In the next summer, LNK Industries will hand over a new, modern, animal-friendly premises with an area of 75 m2 for the accommodation of homeless cats to the Small Animal Shelter of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LLU).
Using a modern modular construction system, one of the leading construction companies in Latvia, LNK Industries, will create a modern infrastructure for the accommodation of stray cats, which will be transferred to the ownership of LLU. The modern cat-housing facilities will provide suitable conditions for both the animals and the cat-house staff. In addition to the accommodation of stray cats, the aim is to create the most comfortable conditions for the animals and the most convenient conditions for visitors who wish to see the cats and shelter them.

Sometimes it takes a relatively small investment of time or other resources to make a significant difference in someone’s life. In the everyday rush, we must not forget that help is also needed for animals who have been left homeless because of our fellow human beings. We need to make it possible for them to find new homes and, until that happens, to provide them with adequate living conditions. We are pleased that, in cooperation with the LLU, this opportunity will be provided to stray cats in Jelgava, thus facilitating the process of finding new homes.”
The construction of the modern cat shelter uses a modular construction system, which allows to create the necessary space in a short period of time, flexibly adjusting both the size of the space and its functionality. The total cost of the construction of the cat shelter is EUR 50 000.
