We have completed our work on the Ķekava bypass
We have successfully completed our work on the Ķekava bypass, an integral part of the Riga-Bauska-Lithuanian border highway (A7) and the international highway E67 Via Baltica.
Notably, the Ķekava bypass marks a milestone as the first major public-private partnership (PPP) in road construction in the Baltic states. LNK Industries is proud about being the primary subcontractor for the private partner AS Kekava ABT, specifically for artificial structures.
In this project, we executed the concrete work for both the substructures and the top parts of the bridge decks. Our responsibilities extended to four significant infrastructure elements of the bypass. This included the construction of two viaducts with lengths of 70 and 80 meters, along with two culverts. The unique aspect of the bypass project lies in its curvature, featuring minimal straight angles. Constructing the culvert required altering the direction of water flow and stabilizing the soil from an unstable to a stable state.
The project is a collaborative effort involving the public partner, the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Latvia, and the State Joint-Stock Company Latvijas Valsts Ceļi, alongside the private partner, AS Kekava ABT. Funding for the project comes from the private partner, European Bank of Investments and Northern Bank of Investments. Anticipated completion and handover of the Ķekava bypass for operational use are set for the end of this year.
