AS LNK Industries is implementing a design-and-build project that includes the design, manufacturing, delivery, and installation of a new sulphur handling conveyor line at the Port of Kotka, Finland. The project client is Rauanheimo, the leading port operator in Finland. The project began in early 2024 and is scheduled for completion in July 2025.
The project includes a mobile hopper and conveyor system that enables efficient bulk cargo handling directly from vessels without being tied to a fixed unloading point. The automated conveyor system, consisting of six stationary conveyor lines, ensures the movement of cargo between loading points and storage. To facilitate further rail transport to the end user, the project also includes the construction of a station for loading sulphur into rail wagons — a key element in the logistics chain. A 3D scan was conducted on-site to ensure high-precision integration of the new technological solution into the existing infrastructure of the Port of Kotka.
LNK Industries is delivering the project based on a “one-stop-shop” principle, providing a full service cycle — from concept development based on the client’s vision to installation and commissioning. The project brings together the knowledge and capacity of leading specialists from Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, demonstrating the company’s ability to coordinate complex technological processes on a Baltic scale.
“One of our core areas at LNK Industries is the implementation of bulk cargo handling solutions. We are proud to contribute to technological progress and sustainability in the cargo transport sector by providing efficient solutions. This project is another step toward our company’s goal — to build regionally significant infrastructure and strengthen our presence in the Scandinavian market,” emphasizes Genadijs Kamkalovs, Director of AS LNK Industries.
The project client, Rauanheimo, is a leader in logistics and cargo handling and the largest dry bulk operator in Finland. The company operates in all major Finnish ports and is constantly seeking opportunities for development. The aim of the project is to increase efficiency and improve sulphur handling processes while reducing environmental impact.
