University of Latvia Academic Centre building in Tornakalns is already 5 storeys tall

University of Latvia Academic Centre building in Tornakalns that is being built by LNK Industries Group has already reached fifth floor and today the final stage of 5th storey floor was finished.

Right now, moulds for 6th storey’s floor are being made and one fourth of it will be completed by the end of the week.

“LNK Industries Group” general partnership and University of Latvia signed a contract for the first stage of technical project development, construction and field supervision of LU Academic Centre in Tornakalns, in Riga, in September 2013. Works started already in October 2013. Seven-storey natural science centre, which is planned to be finished by July next year, will be the first higher-education building that was built from scratch since the Restoration of Independence of Latvia.

Project is being implemented within European Regional Development Fund’s (ERDF) sub-activity “Modernization of Premises and Devices for Improvement of Study Programme Quality at Higher Educational Establishments, including Provision of Education Opportunities for Individuals with Functional Disabilities”, within  “University Infrastructure Modernisation within Priority Study Programmes Development” project No. 2010/0114/3DP/ and ERDF sub-activity “Development of Scientific Infrastructure” project.
