LNK Industries technology expert and project manager Dmitrijs Muhins has received a commendation in the competition “Latvian Construction Engineer of the Year 2025” in the nomination “Project Manager of the Year 2025” for his contribution to the implementation of the Sulphur Handling Terminal at the Port of Hamina-Kotka, Finland.
The recognition was awarded for professional work on a technologically complex and internationally significant infrastructure project. The terminal was delivered under the design and build principle, ensuring a full project cycle, from concept development and design to the manufacturing of technological equipment, installation, and commissioning. The project began in early 2024 and was completed in the summer of 2025.
The multifunctional complex provides all stages of the sulphur handling process, including unloading cargo from vessels, safe enclosed transportation to storage without dust emissions, storage, and subsequent loading into railway wagons for onward transport beyond the port area.
The project brought together expertise and resources from several countries, ensuring effective international cooperation during the design, manufacturing, and installation phases. The technological concept and equipment solutions were developed by LNK Industries engineers, while project implementation involved partners from the Baltic States and other European countries.
The competition “Latvian Construction Engineer of the Year” is organised to highlight outstanding industry professionals and to promote the development of high-quality construction, design, and engineering in Latvia.
